International Men's Day, November 19: The annual celebration that no one remembers — not even men

Men's Day: the day we celebrate without knowing we had to celebrate.

Yesterday, November 19, a phenomenon as mysterious as the Bermuda Triangle occurred again: it was International Men's Day… and nobody noticed.

No balloons, no messages, no special offers. Not even a "happy day" on WhatsApp. Nothing. Zero. Absolute silence.

While on March 8th the world is filled with flowers, campaigns, banners and even discounts, Men's Day goes so unnoticed that even Google doesn't feature it in a doodle.

What happened yesterday?

The usual:

• The men went to work as if nothing had happened.

• Nobody gave them a chocolate, a coffee, or an extra hug.

• On social media, zero mentions (except for some last-minute memes).

• And by the time some people found out, it was already November 20th.

In fact, if you ask today, most people give the same answer:

“International Men’s Day? Does it really exist?”

So what's it for?

Although it may sound like a joke, the goal of November 19th is quite serious: to talk about men's physical and mental health, combat stereotypes, and promote positive role models.

But well… first we should remember that it exists.

A possible theory

Some say that Men's Day isn't celebrated because nobody knows exactly what to give them.

Others think that men don't complain either, because if they say something, they lose.

And there are those who claim that the day is there... but in invisible mode.

In summary

Yesterday was International Men's Day.

And like every year, it was celebrated in the traditional way: without being celebrated.

So, even though it's late:

Happy Men's Day!

(For those who found out today, tomorrow, or when someone sends you this link).
